Gritline Adventure Racing partnered with Blue Crow Studio to build their brand from the ground up—transforming an early-stage idea into a bold, cohesive visual identity and fully functional website.

From logo design to event graphics and a responsive website, every piece was created to reflect the energy, grit, and teamwork at the heart of adventure racing.

About the Client

Gritline Adventure Racing organizes outdoor endurance events designed to challenge participants physically and mentally while fostering teamwork and connection with nature.

Their events are immersive, demanding, and rewarding—so the brand needed to reflect that same sense of energy and adventure.

When we began, the organization had a strong vision—but no visual identity or website to support it.

The Challenge

Because Gritline was starting from scratch, the challenge wasn’t refining an existing brand—it was building one.

The goal was to create a visual identity and website that would:

  • capture the rugged, adventurous spirit of endurance racing

  • feel bold, energetic, and motivating

  • clearly communicate event information

  • build credibility for a new organization

Everything needed to feel cohesive, intentional, and ready to grow with the brand.

The Approach

We worked closely together over several weeks, moving through each phase of the project collaboratively and refining the design along the way.

Brand Strategy & Direction

We started by exploring the heart of the brand—what Gritline stands for, who their audience is, and how the brand should feel.

From there, we established a clear creative direction focused on:

  • bold, high-impact typography

  • rugged textures inspired by outdoor terrain

  • dynamic visuals that suggest movement and endurance

  • a color palette that feels natural, strong, and adventurous

Brand Identity Design

With a clear direction in place, we developed the full brand identity, including logo design, color palette, and typography.

This created a cohesive visual system that could be used consistently across the website, marketing materials, and race assets.

Website Design

Once the brand was established, we designed and built Gritline’s first website.

The site was structured to:

  • introduce the brand and its mission

  • explain how adventure racing works

  • promote upcoming events

  • make it easy for participants to learn more and get involved

The final website is fully responsive and designed to work seamlessly across devices—especially important for users accessing it on the go.

Event Graphics

To support one of Gritline’s races, we also created custom event graphics.

These designs ensured that the brand extended beyond the website into the physical event experience—creating a cohesive and recognizable presence across all touchpoints.

Behind the Design

Every design decision was made to support how the brand would be experienced in the real world.

The bold typography and rugged textures create a sense of strength and movement, while the visual system ensures consistency across digital and physical materials.

By building a flexible brand system, Gritline now has the tools to grow and evolve while maintaining a strong, recognizable identity.
